Psychological / emotional perspective: If we ourselves are laughing we may be experiencing a release of tension. Often the object of our amusement will give a clue to the relevance of the dream in everyday life. It can also be seen as a sign of rejection.
To hear a crowd laughing suggests a shared enjoyment, if we do not have a sense of being laughed at.

It is now known that laughter has a healing quality, so to be conscious of it in dreams suggests that a healing has taken place.
